WHITENING,
in this phase a seed coat, situated under the chuff, called pericarp
is removed by means of machineries called bleaching machines. Rice,
passing through four bleaching machines undergoes different treatments
until it becomes white as we know it.
Finally the optical and dimensional SELECTION begins,
to obtain the highest uniformity of product; in fact by means of
special
machines where broken grains,
together with those with defects, are separated and sent to the
zootechnical market.
